After long days of fun in the sun and lazy day at the pool, it can be a real challenge for your kids back on the right track to get a new school year.
The night before school starts is not the ideal time to prepare children for school. It is better to be ready to begin a few weeks before school starts to ensure that children are refreshed ready for the change, and for the new school year.
Here are some tips to help the parents to start the transition:
GetYour kids excited.
Get your kids ready for school by back-to-school shopping a family affair. At a shopping spree for school supplies, let the children cross the items from their list, as the carts - they keep involved and excited to fill.
Play school.
Get books, paper, pencils and crayons and practice reading and writing. How do you play ask your children what they are out of school. This is a good time to talk about fears and concerns they may be discussedwith.
Get back to the school year routine.
A few weeks before the start of the school to put - and keep - a realistic bedtime, so that the children get the recommended 10 to 12 hours of sleep per night.
Back-to-school activities.
Find out more about back-to-school activities or events such as meet-and-greet sessions with the teachers. This is a great opportunity to get your children to know their school and meet their teachers.
Practice the morning routine.
Beforefirst day out in school, as long as possible to take for everyone to get out of the house on time. If your children walk to school, practice, show the path to where they stop and, if necessary, as crossing the street. If your children are bus drivers, to show them where to catch the bus and bus-review rules.
Get your own routine in check.
Make sure you know what you need to do to run smoothly the busy morning schedule. More time in the morning,to consider dealing with the following in the night, set the timer on the coffee maker, the preparation and review of homework lunch. And practice your new routine before the stress of the school year really hits.
